Almonte Library gives a first podcast a place to begin
A reservable room in southwest Oklahoma City lets a small recording project start with preparation rather than a home studio purchase.

The hardest part of a first podcast may be deciding what belongs in its first few minutes. An introduction, one focused question and a clear ending can make a manageable first recording. Almonte Library offers a place to try that small version through its reservable podcast room.
The Metropolitan Library System lists the room as free, with reservations available for up to two hours and up to seven days ahead. Its current room listing allows one active makerspace reservation per person or group at a time; finish that booking before making another. Check the room's actual availability before arranging an interview.

MLS Studios requires a valid Metropolitan Library card in good standing and a user agreement before a first visit. Contact staff about the podcast room's equipment, assistance and file-saving arrangements, rather than assuming every microphone or recording program will be ready for a particular setup.
Ask a guest's permission before recording or sharing their voice. Bring a short outline, make a brief sound test and leave time to save the work. The point of the first session can be learning what to change. A clear conversation with a realistic scope is a more useful beginning than arriving with a complicated production that cannot fit the reservation.
